How to avoid the Craigslist flag

We’ve been advertising on Craigslist since 2009. Craigslist flagging issue. That funny, sometimes my competitor Troll swims on Craigslist search results trying to flag ads.

So I flagged that I was able to find all the variables that I could test. I’m going to share it with you today. Change your strategy a bit to stay one step ahead of the game.

First, ask how Craigslist flags it. Do you want to remove ads from your site?

Rocket

The flag system is a community and most user-generated craiglists will tell you if your ad really contains banned content. The Craigslist algorithm deletes posts if more than one user decides to flag them. Posts immediately after posting.

The flag is not 100% user generated. Craigslist flag Removes the ad itself. So we need to post ads in a satisfying way, both on Craigslist and in the community.

Normally, the system’s algorithms don’t hold ads The ratio of flags to ad views is unbalanced. For example, within 5 minutes, your ad will appear 120 times and 23 flags will be displayed. You are in the high zone and the ad was probably automatically removed by the system.

Main Reasons for Craigslist Reporting

  1. IP address does not match the desired area Job title.
  2. Advertising content such as titles, images, descriptions, etc.
  3. Competitors flag posts
  4. An IP that posts a large number of ads from the same thing in a short time.
  5. Use special characters in ad titles
  6. Posting in the wrong category
  7. Offer unsolicited offers. And spam emails.
  8. Spam links in ads. (Clickbait)

1) IP address.

The main purpose of Craigslist is to host the local community. For ads, you need to post your ads locally. Therefore, when you post an ad for a Dallas real estate sale, the site shows that your IP is also in the Dallas area. Craigslist is not a global single domain website. Craigslist has a different domain for each city. For example

newyork.craigslist.org

Losangles.craigslist.org

In fact, the total number of Craigslist sites is 700. If you’re sitting in New York and trying to post to San Diego, your ads may be flagged or ghosted in California. This is a very common mistake. Sometimes you may run away it. However, there is a 90% chance that your ad will be ghosted or flagged correctly away.

Posting from another area may be flagged. Because craigslist detects that you are trying to game your system.

2) Advertisement title, description, image

As discussed above, Craigslist mostly depends on that visitor deciding which ad to remove. Your best bet is to provide great content to your visitors. Convert unique design images, catchy titles, and ad descriptions.

As long as you provide value, you will be safe.

Resources that can be used to create stunning Flag Evidence Craigslist Ads:

1) Craigslist ad title generator. You can get lots of unique titles with this tool. Watch the video below to see how it works.

I coded this excel spreadsheet for myself often.

Disclaimer: -Do not use these titles for mass posting. It’s Craigslist TOU again. You can use each of these titles individually.

2) You can get a good looking Craigslist image for a few dollars it can be used for months after months. Great image helps to look legal. It will help you increase your conversions and grow your customers.

3) Competitors flag ads.

If someone flags your ad, it will be counted as an alert for that post. The Craigslist algorithm scans it to see if it contains banned, offensive, hoax, or offensive content. When the number of flags accumulates and reaches the set threshold, the craigslist algorithm, ads are flagged immediately.

However, in most cases, competitors will flag your ads. They don’t want your ad to swim on the front page. They just flag ads using hundreds of different proxies to remove ads and have an unfair advantage because there is no competition.

How can I protect my ads from flaggers?

a) Increase the number of views. Every time you open it in a new tab, a new impression is created. And apart if there are hundreds of unique visitors on Craigslist. It will be very difficult for someone to remove your ad.

b) The name of the title to avoid using the same brand. Surprisingly, auto-advertising flags will search for brands and automatically send flags to competitors. Craigslist posts, including item names, brand or company names are automatically flagged for easy detection. You are more likely to be targeted. To avoid this, use a unique combination of titles. Flag software and warnings using the same brand over and over again.

c) The number of hidden phone numbers on VoIP phones. With flagging software you can track the same phone number, over and over again, it’s also easy for humans to record. All they need to do is find your phone number craigslist, they get a list of abuse and removal. Check the screenshot below. I was able to find a large number of ads posted by just search for the phone number to the same user.

Why are you exposed to spammers? Use the VOIP number instead and don’t flag your ads.

You can get a new number from Tossable and use it for Craigslist ads. Very difficult for spammers If you are using multiple phone numbers, be aware of the ads. That is, the number of numbers that can be transferred to your personal phone.

Do not use these numbers to spam or mass post on Craigslist. Just reveal your real phone number to spammers Craigslist scammers.

4) Posting from the same IP address.

If you have many of the same ads from the same account IP address in a short time, you are in trouble! Because this can raise the red flag. It’s not natural.

Based on testing and experience with more than 10 ads posted, you may eventually get ads from the same IP address per day, flagged or ghosted.

How to get rid of this situation if I still want to post 10 or more ads a day?

There is no short answer to this question. But I can write a separate guide on this topic. Here are some useful tips for you:-

1) Schedule a post. If you have a lot of stock or items, you need to create a schedule for spreading posts. If you accidentally flood, the Craigslist front page IP that advertised in a very short time may be blacklisted, flagged, and ghosted.

2) Use multiple IP addresses As mentioned above, the Craigslist system monitors that IP address for users. If you notice that there are too many posts from one IP address, the list will be immediately flagged.

You can easily get a new IP address. Read the topic “IP Address” For more information on changing IP addresses, see this article.

There are many other factors, but let’s make them another factor Time. The above is the most common solution for this particular problem.

5) Use of special characters

That’s interesting, but based on testing, Craigslist can flag it with special characters.

why ?

Special characters are used in many posters simply to grab. In most of these cases, pay attention to and increase CTR (click-through rate) Special characters are useless and misleading. Think from a different perspective. Ordinary Craigslist visitors don’t like it and are fooled by this clickbait technique. They flag you ads.

Professional Tips:-Don’t overdo it, just do it naturally.

She is an example of special characters. They are catching users Be careful, but very dangerous for advertising. Avoid using these types of special characters.

7) Offer unsolicited offers.

There are many shaded people on Craigslist. They post Craigslist and solicitation or illegally offered advertising products / services.

The content and everything seems perfect, but someone shows an interest in email and the advertising poster tries to extract the phone number Other personal information that can be used for a variety of purposes Illegal activity.

A wise person will flag your ad as soon as you notice this.

Be honest with the people you are dealing with. If your behavior is inappropriate, your ad may be flagged. If you only need a few flags for your ad, who knows?

Advertising spam links (clickbait) Affiliate link posts, CPA type links and quick rich or Ponzi schemes can cause a red flag. Craigslist tracks these links Potential abuse. And you can see that even the user is trying to game the system which can flag you very easily.

Solution:-

Do not use links in a) Description. Posting a link to the ad description is considered spam. Especially affiliate and CPA type links.

It’s better to use your website link in Craigslist images. If you’re not a designer, no problem! Cool flyers you can get using Fiverr.

b) Do not use URL Shortening Service. If you’re using a URL shortening service such as Google Short URL, or just a little. Please stop using it immediately! Based on testing, we noticed that ads containing URL Shortener links are considered spam and are immediately flagged.

c) Provide value to visitors. You’re advertising on Craigslist to generate prospects and customers. So make sure you offer value to your visitors and possibilities Costumes. Clickbait was eventually flagged and blacklisted.
